About The Spring
Welcome to The Spring Arts & Heritage Centre
The Spring is Havant Borough’s Arts Centre and Museum. We present live events (including theatre, music, comedy, spoken word and more), films, Event Cinema, exhibitions, workshops and more. We work in our building in Havant and across the region with our busy family-orientated outreach programme.
Great Experiences for Everyone
We want everyone who comes to one of our events to have a great time. Our organisation belongs to our community and audiences and everyone is always welcome.
A Small Place Where Big Things Happen
We are one of the few integrated arts and heritage centres in the UK and use this position to create innovative programmes to inspire and engage our audiences and the community. We create and curate experiences that change the way people see the world; to enhance wellbeing and make our community proud.
One of a Kind
We are committed to providing unique experiences for our audiences and community. We work with a wide range of artists and companies to make sure that the events and activities that take place here are relevant and exciting. We try to support and commission artists where we can and are always happy to hear from people who are interested in creating high quality, innovative, small-scale events and experiences that place the audience first.
Since April 2018 we have been part of Arts Council England’s National Portfolio. As a member of the portfolio, we receive £120,000 of funding per year from Arts Council. This funding is instrumental in enabling us to secure, develop and deliver exciting cultural programmes and develop the quality of our work. We also receive funding from Hampshire County Council and Havant Borough Council.
The Spring is a Registered Charity (No. 297353) and a Company Limited by Guarantee.
