Some good news!

Some good news!

10 August 2020

At The Spring we are all about the live experience. We believe in the power of sharing and connecting over performances and films, workshops, exhibitions, heritage and coffee. After months of uncertainty I am delighted to let you know that we are ready to tell you about the events we have coming up this autumn.

So close, yet so far!

We had such a good plan!    We’ve all been working on it for weeks. It was 12 pages of detail, information and action plans. It was scheduled to within an inch of its life and we all knew what we had to do to successfully reopen The Spring. And it was happening!  Exhibitions were going up on the walls, information banners were at the printers, and we were ready to send a series of emails, social media posts and blog posts announcing to the world that the worst was over - we were coming back.

The Spring in Isolation

The Spring in Isolation

27 May 2020

This summer The Spring was all set to work with Gobbledegook Theatre on a new project celebrating Havant. The Cycle Project was a new initiative as part of the national Here and Now programme and would see Gobbledegook Theatre cycle around Havant on their upcycled pedicab having conversations and gathering local stories. The pedicab and the conversations would all weave together into an exhibition in our Mezzanine Gallery, reflecting our community and our town. Although partly on pause for now, The Spring and Gobbledegook are continuing to work together and develop the project. In this special guest blog Lorna Rees, Co-Artistic Director of Gobbledegook, shares how the project has developed during the Covid-19 pandemic and the other creative outlets the company have been exploring.
