Light at the end of the tunnel

Light at the end of the tunnel

1 March 2021

In two weeks it will be a year since we closed our doors for the first time because of coronavirus. I am so glad I did not know then how the year would pan out. But, however challenging it has been, there is now light at the end of the tunnel.  The government’s announcement last Monday means we now have an idea of dates and can celebrate and get excited about the possibility of reopening The Spring (again). We cannot wait.

Still going!

Still going!

4 February 2021

I’m sorry it’s been a while since my last blog post. Over the last year, the team and I have tried to keep positive in the face of the closure of The Spring, the cancellation of events and the ongoing threat to the organisation we love. We have attempted to carry on smiling, to continue planning online events and to keep in touch with our audiences and friends -  our Spring family. It has not always been easy and, as I am sure many of you have found, the start of 2021 has been more challenging than ever.

What a year

What a year

21 December 2020

Here we are, coming towards the end of a rollercoaster year. 2020 hasn’t been what any of us had expected or planned but we hope that our ongoing activities and weekly emails have kept you entertained and been something of a tonic in a difficult time.

Goodbye 2020

Goodbye 2020

17 December 2020

Today we have heard the news that Havant will enter into Tier 3 restrictions from Saturday morning. It is with very heavy hearts that we will be closing The Spring on Friday 18 December at 5pm and we will not reopen again this year.

We really do love Christmas

We really do love Christmas

7 December 2020

I have written before about The Spring’s team obsession with Christmas.  We all love this time of year and in the months before December, everyone enjoys the excitement as the season approaches.  Even in the midst of Covid and the second lockdown, Dan and Sue were undeterred and if you walk past our building after dark you will see it is now strung with hundreds of icicle lights, brightening up our part of town.
