Antiques Road Show Expert Coming To Havant16 May 2018
Hilary Kay, antiques and collectables consultant, broadcaster, writer and lecturer, is coming to The Spring Arts & Heritage Centre in June. She has been a familiar face on BBC TV’s long-running Antiques Road Show since 1978.
Hilary will be sharing her personal experiences from over 40 years in the rarefied world of international antiques, as a Senior Director of Sotheby’s, and as an expert on The Antiques Roadshow.
In My Favourite Things, Hilary will present her ‘Desert Island’ pick of antiques, from microscopes to Mickey Mouse. Hilary is particularly interested in antique mechanical objects but another of her passions is rock memorabilia. In 1981 she held the world’s first rock and roll memorabilia auction and wrote the first textbook on the subject. She went on to handle the sale of Elton John’s collection of rock and roll memorabilia. More recently she has created and produced a stage show based on The Antiques Roadshow.
With her wide ranging interests and passions, combined with extensive knowledge of antiques and collectables, can anyone predict what objects will qualify as her favourite things?
Hilary Kay presenting My Favourite Things will be at The Spring Arts & Heritage Centre, Havant on Saturday 16 June 2018 at 19.30.
Tickets are £15, (£14 concessions) and available online at http://thespring.co.uk/whats-on/heritage/hilary-kay/ or by calling The Spring Box Office on 023 9247 2700.
