Open exhibition 2015: Mixed media2 April 2015
The Spring Arts & Heritage Centre’s annual visual art Open Exhibition is now open for submissions. The theme for this year is Mixed Media and the winning entries will be put on display in the venue’s Sadler Gallery from Monday 23rd March until Friday 3rd July 2015.
The Open Exhibition is an exciting opportunity for all – from student to professional, enthusiastic to emerging - artists to display and even sell their work. Entries can be in either 2D or 3D and there are no restrictions on the subject matter, leaving entrants totally free to express themselves.
The winning entrants will be chosen by a panel including professional artist Nic Cowper and, as well being able to have their work displayed at The Spring Arts & Heritage Centre, the successful artists will be given a cash prize.
Sophie Fullerlove, The Spring’s Centre Director said, “This is a great opportunity for artists to get inspired and display their talents and passion. I know from our regular art classes that we possess a wealth of artistic talent right here on our doorstep and I’m really looking forward to seeing what people submit.”
The deadline for applications is Friday 16 January 2015. There are two categories: Adult (entry cost £10) and Under 18 (entry cost £5). For further information, or to apply, please call the Box Office on 023 9247 2700 or visit www.thespring.co.uk/open-exhibition-2015.
Last year’s exhibition was based around the theme of photography and showcased the work of 24 talented artists. Its winners were Paul Stone (adult category) and Anna Fremantle (13-17 years category).
