Open Exhibition 201815 May 2018
The Spring Arts and Heritage Centre is delighted to announce the opening of this year’s Open Exhibition.
Earlier in the year an invitation was extended to all local artists and craftspeople to contribute their work to an exhibition based around the theme of to celebrate 100 years since women first won the right to vote.
20 artists entered this year’s Open Exhibition, with 17 artists being chosen to display a total of 23 pieces of artwork.
A special private view was held on Tuesday 24 April, and the winner of the competition for best work on display was announced by Director Sophie Fullerlove. The winning artist was Agata Wojcieszkiewicz with her artwork Labour (Self Portrait).
The judging panel included Peter Hammond and Clare Jefferson-Jones, who also curated the exhibition. The Spring would like to also thank Barbara Howard for collating the information on the research boards displayed in the gallery.
