An Exhibition ‘open’ to professionals, amateurs and dabblers…

The Open Exhibition 2016 at The Spring
Each year The Spring holds an Open Exhibition. This means that a winning artist is awarded their own exhibition to put into our main Sadler Gallery space - situated near our entrance and café/shop area. This is a great space/place for the public to view the art whilst enjoying a cup of coffee.
This year’s Open Exhibition celebrates drawing and pottery.

The Sadler Gallery theme for 2016 is DRAWING
By ‘drawing’ we are asking for: a two-dimensional artwork created from lines or tone that is dominated by a dry medium (such as graphite, charcoal, pastel, pen or crayon) but can also include wet mediums (such as ink, and washes of paint).
Artists can submit up to three pieces of work of any size.

The Sadler Gallery Cabinets theme for 2016 is POTTERY
By pottery we are asking for: a three dimensional ware such as vases, pots, bowls, plates or other forms, shaped from moist clay and hardened by heat.
Artists can submit up to three pieces of work and they must measure less than 38cm x 33cm x 32 cm.

The work featured in the exhibition is chosen by a panel including a professional artist and a prize of £25 is awarded for one piece of work within each category. A further prize of £10 will be awarded for one piece of work in each category submitted by an artist under the age of 18.

The deadline for applications is Friday 15 January 2016. There is a £10 submission cost for up to three pieces. The Open Exhibition 2016 will run from Monday 7 March until Friday 3 June.
