Throwing down the Great Pottery (and Drawing) gauntlet!13 November 2015
The Spring Arts & Heritage Centre’s annual visual arts Open Exhibition is now open for submissions. The themes for this year are Drawing and Pottery with the winning entries forming part of a display in the venue’s Sadler Gallery and Sadler Gallery Cabinets from Monday 7th March until Friday 3rd June 2016.
The Open Exhibition is an exciting opportunity for all – from student to professional, enthusiastic to emerging - artists to display and even sell their work.
The winning entrants will be chosen by a panel of experts and, as well as being able to have their work displayed at The Spring Arts & Heritage Centre, the successful artists will be given a cash prize.
Sophie Fullerlove, The Spring’s Centre Director said, “This is a great opportunity for artists to get inspired and display their talents and passion. The success of campaigns such as The Big Draw and the interest in pottery, highlighted by programmes like the BBC’s ‘The Great Pottery Throw Down’, show that there’s a tremendous well of artistic ability in this country and we want to help celebrate that.”
The deadline for applications is Friday 15 January 2016. Entrants pay £10 to submit up to three pieces. For further details, or to apply, please call the Box Office on 023 9247 2700 or visit www.thespring.co.uk/exhibitions/exhibition-opportunities
Last year’s exhibition was based around the theme of Mixed Media and was won by Andrew Goff.
