Beside the Seaside
Schools' Mental Health Project
Our outreach team has been running a mental health project across eight local schools. Young people aged 5 - 15 from infant, junior and secondary schools are taking part in the project which is enabling them to learn about the impact of different emotions and then explore how to channel difficult feelings into poems. The pupils have been working with poet and writer Joseph Coelho to learn about poetic devices and will soon be working with Millstream Productions to use their poems to create educational films about mental health. The films will be premiered here at The Spring in May.
This project is supported by Arts Council England.
Hayling Island - seafront to the right of Beachlands
Sunday15 July 11am - 3pm
Nothing beats a day by the seaside, so The Spring is heading to Hayling Island's beautiful beach this summer and we've planned a free day of fun for whole family!
As well as performances, games and stalls, we’ll also be joined by a couple of cheeky seagulls, a few fishy characters, a gentle giant from the deep blue sea and the world's smallest solar powered cinema.
Our pop-up promenade will be there in sunshine or rain, so bring a beach towel or a raincoat and we'll see you there!
