Thank you for your interest in supporting The Spring Arts & Heritage Centre by volunteering.
Huge thanks go to all The Spring’s volunteers for the fantastic contribution they make to our organisation. We have around 100 volunteers and their contribution allows us to use our precious financial resources to increase the quality and reach of our the work. We welcome a diverse range of volunteers and value the breadth of experience they can offer us. We encourage volunteer involvement across all of our projects and departments.
We give full training for all volunteer roles.
Volunteers help us across the organisation including:
Front of House
Most of our volunteers work front of house as stewards for our events. They are responsible for checking tickets, helping people to their seats and evacuating the performance spaces in the event of an emergency.
Volunteers help us to manage our heritage centre. They undertake local historical research, help the public with their enquiries and keep our research room and information kiosk up to date.
Our Box Office volunteers help us by selling tickets and answering queries. They work on our computerized box office system and are very good at keeping our customers happy.
Volunteers in our marketing team help us in a number of different ways including proof-reading, distributing posters and leaflets, stuffing envelopes and other tasks.
Oyster Gift Shop
Our shop sells a range of cards, scarves and gifts. Volunteers help us to keep track of our stock and make sure all the items on sale look beautiful.
We have lots of admin tasks that need doing to keep The Spring running efficiently. Some volunteers help us by managing specific projects or by supporting us on an ad hoc basis with tasks including stuffing envelopes, updating spreadsheets and working with the finance team.
Operations and Technical
We want The Spring to be a well-run and maintained place. Volunteers support our operations and technical team with tasks including gardening, screening films and helping support our technicians.
