The course is for anyone who has an interest in music, and will feature a variety of repertoire by the great composers.

OUR NEVER-TO-BEFORGOTTEN FRIEND ROSA NEWMARCH
Saturday 22 April, 2.00pm
Rosa Newmarch was an influential figure in the musical life of early 20th century London. During the 1890s she visited Russia and got to know several of its composers.
She wrote the programme notes for Henry Wood’s Promenade Concerts for some forty years and arranged only visit to this country in 1926. Peter Avis, a former music administrator, now writes CD booklets and programme notes and gives pre-concert talks. More recently he presented a radio programme about Rosa Newmarch. In his talk he will explore the many aspects of her fascinating life.
