Each week during term time we offer a selection of visual art workshops for adults. Designed to give you the time and space to get creative, join our sessions to enjoy:

Please note all classes require you to bring your own materials.

Try Before You Buy – if you are a new participant, come along and try your first session for free. If you decide to return, you’ll pay for the session with the rest of the term. Subject to availability. Please ask at the Box Office for details.
Our Essential Skills workshops are designed to help beginners and improvers gain and practice some basic skills to get started in your medium. In these classes our expert tutors set short tasks, give demonstrations and will help you explore colour, equipment and a wide range of techniques to get you started.
Life drawing is back at The Spring! This course will offer you the opportunity to try something new, or develop existing skills with a tutor on hand for guidance.
Beginners will learn essential skills in oils by exploring a range of techniques, along with looking at the use of oils in important art movements. Intermediates will develop through projects set by the tutor.

An enjoyable way to gain experience in painting with pastels and the variety of techniques involved. Demonstrations are given by the tutor where appropriate with a wide range of subjects covered.
This course is suitable for all levels of ability.
A course covering the important basics of drawing, from experimenting with shade and tone to perspective studies and object forms.

A class for beginners that will encourage you to get started with watercolour painting. Learn about wet paper inking, incorporating detail and mixing colour and other techniques.
Our project sessions give those with a little more confidence the space, time and support to develop their work independently. In these sessions tutors provide support and will help you refine existing techniques to make your own projects even better!
In these sessions artist Nic Cowper will support you to develop your own style in watercolour painting.
On Thursday mornings during term time we open up the Art Space for anyone who would like the chance to come and use our materials and equipment for free. A great way to find out if art activities are for you!
