Workshops for Adults
Each week during term time we offer a selection of visual art workshops for adults where you can enjoy tuition from professionals in a relaxed environment.
Summer 2017 term dates: w/c 17 April - w/c 10 July | Half term w/c 29 May (12 week term)
You can book workshops in two blocks of six weeks each. To secure your place for the full term, please book both blocks in advance.
Try Before You Buy – if you are a new participant, come along and try your first session for free. If you decide to return, you’ll pay for the session with the rest of the term. Subject to availability.
Please note: you need to bring your own materials to all classes.
On Thursday mornings during term time we open up the Art Space for anyone who would like the chance to come and use our materials and equipment for free. A great way to find out if art activities are for you!
Join Jules in this great opportunity to practise and develop your life drawing techniques and style. In this workshop you will have the chance to experiment with mark making and media. If you love drawing, you won’t want to miss this!
Come along and discover the wonderfully diverse medium of oils. You will have the chance to experiment with mark making and take a look at some contemporary landscape artists for inspiration. Weather permitting, join Heather for some en plein air studies.
Explore the exciting potential of pastel painting and the range of techniques and styles it encompasses in a fun and informative environment. Join Robyn for a great chance to develop your pastel skills across a wide variety of subjects and themes.
Delve into the wonderful world of expressive drawing in this course that covers the exciting basics of drawing. You will have the chance to explore and experiment with shade and tone, perspective and object forms.
Start your watercolour journey in this enjoyable introduction. Get to grips with principals of paint, water and paper and develop your understanding of the wonderful opportunities watercolour offers as well as the limitations of this expressive medium.
Our project sessions give those with a little more confidence the space, time and support to develop their work independently, supported by a tutor.
Stretch your skills and refine your watercolour style through analysis and experimentation. Take a look at your work with a slightly different perspective, try something new and step outside your comfort zone – you’ll find some surprising results…
