Christmas Calls30th November - 21st December
Brighten someone’s year with a bespoke Christmas poem from Arji Manuelpillai and The Spring
At The Spring we believe in the magic of Christmas and the importance of being connected at this time of year. We know that some people face a difficult Christmas. Perhaps you know someone who can’t meet up with family and friends, who faces a Christmas alone or who has found 2020 particularly difficult.
Whoever they are, we want to brighten their day by asking professional poet and performer Arji Manuelpillai (The Merry Maker) to write them their very own Christmas poem. Arji will not only create a bespoke poem celebrating your nominee but he will deliver it in person on the phone or via Zoom at a time to suit them. It will even be followed up with a specially designed Christmas card including the poem so it can be revisited and enjoyed.
In this small way, The Spring hopes to brighten up this winter, celebrate love and friendship and help you let someone know you care, even if you can’t be together.
Watch Arji deliver a poem and hear how Dorothy felt about it, as part of a similar project earlier in the year as part of the Stockton International Riverside Festival:
Nominate someone to receive a Christmas Call!
It is easy and quick to get involved. Simply click the link below to nominate someone you care about.
We have 20 spaces available on the project. Following your nomination The Spring will send you some short questions that will help Arji write a poem especially for your loved one. Once Arji has created the poem we’ll get in touch with them to arrange a time for him to deliver it over the phone or online. They will also receive a special Christmas card with their own copy of the poem to keep.
Taking part in this project is completely free.
