Celebrating the strongest girl in the world – ever!

75 years after the first publication of Pippi Longstocking this brave and fearless girl comes to our stage in a storytelling show by Danyah Miller (I Believe In Unicorns).

Nine-year-old Pippi is self-sufficient and quick-witted. When she comes to live in her new home with her monkey and horse but with no parents and no rules, she brings mischief, chaos and confusion to the folk of this ordinary and traditional town.

Pippi takes charge of her own crazy adventures, with her two new friends, Tommy and Annika. What else would you expect from the daughter of a swashbuckling pirate captain?

Join us for a playful and quirky one-woman storytelling performance to find out why Pippi has inspired fans the world over, including Lauren Child, Michelle Obama, Lady Gaga and Cerys Matthews, to name just a few!

“I was really fascinated with this strong little girl that was the centre of everything, and she was almost magical in a way. She was stronger and tougher than anyone. She had super-human strength, and I got a kick out of her.”- Michelle Obama

An Oxford University Press and Wizard Presents storytelling performance by Danyah Miller.

Danyah is one of the UK’s leading storytellers and was last seen at The Spring in October 2020 with I Believe in Unicorns. She has also delivered storytelling workshops for us.

This event was originally meant to take place in June 2020  and was rescheduled as a result of the coronavirus. Tickets for the previous performance remain valid. If you're unable to join us on the new date please contact the box office before 31 August 2020 to arrange a refund or credit note.
