In the Langstone Room

This autumn we continue our Film Friday monthly screening of the best in modern documentaries. Each film screening has a short introduction and then an informal post-screening discussion led by Steve Murray, Trustee of The Spring.

A documentary of the relationship between the great veteran director Alfred Hitchcock and 30-year-old filmmaker François Truffaut and the series of intense interviews that Truffaut conducted with Hitchcock in 1962. The result of these interviews was Truffaut’s pioneering book, Hitchcock/Truffaut. Documentary director Kent Jones brings this book to life, using archival footage, audio recordings, and interviews with other filmmakers whose work has been profoundly influenced by Hitchcock.
