Online Film Review: The History BoysDiscussion led by Valerie Bird 12th August
Our online film review group is a chance to connect and chat about some great or classic films. Hosted on Zoom each discussion will be led by a film expert or fan and will be an opportunity to explore the storylines, approach and filmic styles in more detail.
The online film club is hosted by The Spring on Zoom. Simply book your free ticket at least 24 hours in advance online and we will send you a link to join the conversation. The group is open to those aged 18 and above.
Tonight Valerie Bird will lead the discussion on The History Boys, a 2006 British comedy-drama film adapted by Alan Bennett from his play of the same name. The play won the 2005 Olivier Award for Best New Play and the 2006 Tony Award for Best Play. The film is directed by Nicholas Hytner, who directed the original production at the Royal National Theatre in London, and features the original cast of the play, including James Cordon and Dominic Cooper and Russell Tovey.
