Tickets: £6 including a glass of wine or soft drink
The Gustave Sonata by Rose Tremain is set in a small town in Switzerland where the horrors of the Second World War seem a distant echo. Gustave’s intense lifelong friendship with Anton affects them both deeply, at times causing grief and misunderstanding. Shortlisted for the Costa Book Award 2016, the novel explores the difference between friendship and love, neutrality and commitment. The discussion will be led by Glad West.
