Francesca Beard's Post-Truth Apocalypse

with support from The Front Room
17 Nov Literature

Tickets £12.50, £11.50 concessions

Spare change… credit cards…air miles…fast food…online streaming…clickbait…cheap meat…wet wipes…plastic… hot yoga…retail therapy…news cycles…capitalism.

On a quest to find the truth, what have we got to lose? Explore make-believe in its many forms, from political spin, to polite half-truths, to the lies we live by – “capitalism is a meritocracy”, “Grandma, I love this cardigan”, “yes, I have read the terms and conditions”.

Join Francesca Beard, one of the UK’s most successful spoken word artists and a self-confessed liar, on a heroic adventure in a quest to rescue our post-truth world; one liar at a time. Joining Francesca Beard will be three Hampshire-based poets responding to the theme of ‘Fake News’. You the audience will decide which lies make you squirm, provide you with hope, or are just very stupid indeed.
