When the devil comes to stay…

When Tom and Amy Bates’s daughter, Patricia, is the victim of a hit-and-run accident, their lives are shattered and altered forever, but they love her, tend to her and hope for some kind of salvation. When Patricia’s salvation does come, in the shape of handsome stranger Martin Taylor, Tom and Amy’s lives are further shattered beyond any apparent prospect of redemption…

Dennis Potter’s 1976 play – originally written for television but banned for eleven years because of its content – was adapted by him for the stage in 1977 and is presented this autumn by HumDrum.

Recommended for ages 15+ with strong sexual themes.
