An amateur theatre production by HumDrum

by Mary Chase
14 Mar - 17 Mar Theatre

Tickets: £12, £10 concessions

Elwood P Dowd and his best friend, Harvey, go everywhere together.

Elwood likes Harvey to socialise with his friends and family, but those who meet him are – to put it mildly – bewildered.

Harvey, you see, is a six-foot, three-and-a-half-inch rabbit. Oh, and – of course – he’s invisible.

Driven to distraction, Elwood’s sister, Veta, concludes that action needs to be taken to save the family name and her own sanity. Elwood – and, so, the cursed Harvey – are committed to Doctor Chumley’s sanatorium. When Doctor Chumley reveals that medical science can permanently remove Harvey, Veta has a big decision to make…

HumDrum are pleased to bring Mary Chase’s 1944 play, both a gentle comedy and celebration of individuality, to The Spring this March.
