An amateur theatre production by HumDrum

One Man Two Guvnors

by Richard Bean
27 Jun - 30 Jun Theatre

Tickets: £12, £10

It’s Brighton. It’s 1963.
Fired from his skiffle band and desperate for cash, Francis Henshall gets a job as minder to Roscoe Crabbe, a small time East End hood who is in Brighton on… well, let’s call it ‘business’.
But Roscoe isn’t Roscoe – he’s actually his sister, Rachel, posing as Roscoe, who is, in fact, dead having been killed by her boyfriend, the ridiculously toffee-nosed Stanley Stubbers. Seeing the chance for some extra cash, Francis takes a second job with Stanley who is hiding from the police and waiting to be reunited with Rachel. All Francis has to do is prevent his two bosses finding out about one another. Easy. Yeah?
Freely adapted by Richard Bean from The Servant of Two Masters by Carlo Goldoni, One Man, Two Guvnors opened to rave reviews in the West End and on Broadway and HumDrum are pleased to bring this modern comic masterpiece to The Spring this June.
