The Normal Heart

by Larry Kramer
18 Oct - 22 Oct Theatre

Tickets: £10, £9 concessions

Tuesday 18 October – Saturday 22 October, 7.30pm

1981.

The gay community of New York is facing a killer; an unknown, seemingly-new disease that is establishing itself in their ranks.

Activist Ned Weeks wants to raise awareness of the disease and, with friend and colleague Doctor Emma Brookner, encourages abstinence in the disease’s target group to protect themselves from infection.
However, Ned’s fiery temper and confrontational approach to the battle against the virus soon begin to alienate those he needs to support him.
Also, unknown to Ned, someone very close to him is already infected…

HumDrum return to The Spring with Larry Kramer’s semi-autobiographical 1985 play, which examines the early attitudes and responses to the AIDS epidemic.
