Supporting The Spring to give back to the community

Huge thanks go to all The Spring’s volunteers for the fantastic contribution they make to our organisation. We have around 100 volunteers and their contribution allows us to use our precious financial resources to increase the quality and reach of our the work. We welcome a diverse range of volunteers and value the breadth of experience they can offer us. We encourage volunteer involvement across all of our projects and departments.

We give full training for all volunteer roles.

To become a volunteer, please download and complete the Volunteer Application Form and send it to info@thespring.co.uk If you don’t have access to a printer, please pop by and pick up a physical application from our Box Office.

The different volunteer roles available:

Front of House

Most of our volunteers work front of house as stewards for our events. They are responsible for checking tickets, helping people to their seats and evacuating the performance spaces in the event of an emergency.

Heritage

Volunteers help us to manage our heritage centre. They undertake local historical research, help the public with their enquiries and keep our research room and information kiosk up to date.

Box Office

Our Box Office volunteers help us by selling tickets and answering queries. They work on our computerized box office system and are very good at keeping our customers happy.

Marketing

Volunteers in our marketing team help us in a number of different ways including proofreading, distributing posters and leaflets, and ensuring The Spring has a digital presence.

Administration

We have lots of admin tasks that need doing to keep The Spring running efficiently. Some volunteers help us by managing specific projects or by supporting us on an ad hoc basis with tasks including collating customer feedback, updating spreadsheets and working with the finance team.

Operations and Technical

We want The Spring to be a well-run and maintained place. Volunteers support our operations and technical team with tasks including gardening, screening films and helping support our technicians.

If any of the above roles suit your skills, then please get in touch with us.

A group of five people are gathered in a bright, cosy community space, looking at a booklet titled "The Spring". Three women sit on a sofa and armchair, while a man and another woman stand behind them. A coffee table in the foreground holds a red flower in a vase, a mug, and craft materials. The atmosphere is warm and collaborative.
