Paul Lynch sets Prophet Song in a future where one evening, Eilish Stack answers her front door to find two officers from Ireland’s newly formed secret police wanting to interrogate her trade unionist husband who subsequently disappears. The country is ruled by a government turning towards tyranny, where Eilish and her three children are caught within the nightmare of a society that is quickly unravelling. Do they fight or attempt to escape?
