Celebrating Climate Change and Biodiversity
In partnership with Havant Borough Council, The Spring Arts & Heritage Centre is excited to launch a public photography competition in celebration of the Council’s new Climate Change and Biodiversity Strategies. This competition aims to raise awareness of biodiversity and climate action through the power of photography.
The winning photographs, selected by a panel of judges, will be professionally exhibited at The Spring from 19 March to 16 May 2025.
Competition Categories:
- Under 25’s Vision: A special category showcasing the perspectives of younger residents on our local environment, climate, and the natural world.
- Nature and Us: Exploring the connection between people and nature, from harmony to conflict, and the interplay of the environment and weather.
- Environmental Guardians: Recognising individuals or communities taking action to protect our local area, whether through conservation or sustainable practices.
- Hidden Worlds: Revealing the beauty of the often unseen natural world through close-up macro photography.
- Changing Places: Depicting transformations in the landscape due to climate change, restoration efforts, or natural processes.
- Wildlife Wonders: Celebrating the diversity of local flora, fauna, and fungi, capturing their beauty, behaviours, or the challenges they face.
The competition is open to all photographers aged 25 and over, with a special category for those under 25.

Exhibition Details
Shortlisted photographs will be professionally printed and displayed at The Spring from 19th March to 16th May 2025. A private viewing event will take place on 18th March 2025, where the winners will be announced.
